MEDIA RELEASEThe Groovy Guru is Back !Sydney ’s media has hailed him the “Groovy Guru” for his practical wisdom, candid humour and grace. The Hindu equivalent of the Dalai Lama, His Holiness Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda, known simply as Swamiji, returns to Sydney April 3-9 2006 as guest speaker at Sydney’s YOGA EXPO and the 26th InternationalYoga & Ayurveda Conference, two huge Yoga events. Swamiji ’s public talks are about how individuals can help change the state of world affairs. In his most recently published book, The Hidden Power in Humans, Swamiji says: “The mightiest power in humans is the power of thought. But now is the time to use our intellectual energy for the benefit of the world, rather than being the cause of its destruction. The path of Yoga and Meditation helps to unearth the valuable treasury of spiritual knowledge buried within us and put it to good use. In this way each person can contribute something worthwhile to the planet and its recovery”. Audiences are drawn to Swamiji’s lucid explanations of the mind, psyche and the hidden powers contained within the human consciousness. Whether he is answering questions about dealing with anger, stress or the state of world affairs, Swamiji’s talks resonate with people from all walks of life, prompting Ambassador Jonathan Dean, former advisor to the U.S. Government on global security, to say: “Over the centuries India has sent many outstanding leaders, both east and west to spreads its ancient wisdom, but none with the unusual qualities of H.H. Swami Maheshwarananda. Swamiji combines a penetrating psychological insight with immense spiritual wisdom…….Swamiji is at once a visionary and gifted organiser of human efforts”. Countless awards and recognitions have been bestowed on H.H. Swamiji for his untiring humanitarian efforts throughout the world, particularly from Presidents and Government leaders in eastern Europe and former communist countries where Swamiji has spent four decades teaching yoga & meditation as a means to overcome conflict and restore harmony. Swamiji also actively campaigns on behalf of third world countries for access to clean safe drinking water and for the right of every child to receive an education, no matter where they live in the world. H.H. Swamiji entreats each individual who is able to help others, to unfold their hands and pitch-in saying “working hands have more value than folded hands…”
